The game is good. Side missions were what they were and the plot points were "typical." I spent 70+ hours on the game. My problem wasn't the gameplay, the constant climbing was annoying. My issue was with the story. Advance humans somehow lose to the lesser of them. It was exciting to hear that the last civilization on earth, before its demise, somehow survived and became so advanced that they accomplished immortality. It bothered me they became hostile to the lesser of them because corruption rears its ugly head, again and again. So I thought. I don't understand why a smarter far superior being is getting beat out by a bunch of cavemen. Maybe if they were benevolent I could see how they could let their better angels let them be easily deceived but were hostile. The reason the bad guys were able to grab Beta and Geminie was because they saw through Aloy's plan. So, they didn't see the red coat and Aloy's plan later on? I could see maybe they became so arrogant that they created blindspots for themselves but once one of them switched sides you'd think they would wise up. Naw because fuck it. Then old fateful M. Night Shyamalan twist. These far-advanced beings weren't trying to conquer Earth but made a quick pit stop before jumping off to another planet because the plummeting sales of psvr2 were coming back for revenge. So you're going to have me believe these intelligent humans get beat by Aloy who seems to be stumbling into the answers, will somehow outmatch this PSvr2 ball of disaster? They should have hitched a ride with Sylens or listened to Tilda and bounced. That would have saved this nonsense. Horizon Zero Dawn story was so brilliant compared to what Forbidden West is. Also, I don't want to be that guy but I just didn't like how the game felt part of the wokeness virus. I guess with Zero Dawn you had hatred so you didn't see the obvious plug-in of every race. With Forbidden West it became so obvious that it was like if we wanted to create this collective community don't base it off of tribal ideology which historically was divided by color. Make a different kind of culture that will make sense with this inculsiveness. It felt like Hollywood was trying to gather as much extras to fill up a massive world and guess what they had to mix and match. There are so many glaring issues with the story that it finally was easy to believe none of this makes sense. I just don't see how you could go forward with a possible third game with the idea Aloy will come on top because she's Aloy and think that will be an entertaining story because this was what Forbidden West was. At least if Aloy went with Sylen and gathered the people to bounce to another home world it would be awesome because we copying a biblical tale and other folktales about civilization escaping an impending doom. And the possibilities are endless of what could happen with these primitive beings entering a far-advanced galaxy. I'll give the game a 7/10. It didn't do anything that the first game didn't do already but the story in the first game is far better than what Forbidden West is.
